Benefits donating online

As Australia was subjected to one of the worst firestorms in history early in 2009 dozens of charities sprung into action. Central to many of these organisation's fundraising campaign was the provision of online donating. An incredible $340m was raised. Of this total 15-25% of donations (depending on the respective organisaiton) came from online donations, with the average donation being 10-15% higher than other forms of donation.
